Founded in 1994 by Roberto Ziliani, Slamp concentrates on producing high quality lamps with a focus on innovative, comprehensible design that utilizes sustainable materials. The Aria lamp is a perfect example of that philosophy.
Designed by the renowned, internationally recognised architect Zaha Hadid, Aria was praised by the jury as an emotional, flexible marriage of artisan process and technologies. The lamp’s very light structural elements define an ethereal volume, showcasing Slamp’s patented polymer materials.
Slamp puts a very high premium on design; more than half of its employees are involved in product design and development, and they have a majority of established, international designers responsible for a large part of the company’s creations.
The company is also highly innovative, making full use of modern technology to produce new materials to use in its products. Slamp is a good user of the RCD system, and is a clear example of a design-centred business with a consistent intellectual property protection strategy.
